I've had a littermaid for several years now and it's been great for my two cats. The only thing I didn't like about the littermaid was that it was so loud. Other than that, it's been great until recently. For the last several months, it's started running continuously. I had to leave it unplugged and then plug it in once a day to let it clear all the waste into the bin. Eventually that got annoying. I like always having a clean litter box for the cats to use, so I decided to buy a new one. The reviews for the new models are horrible and I was so disappointed thinking I would have to switch to a plain litter box. Then I came upon this model which seems to be more like the older littermaids. I received my purchase today. Set up was easy and I was very happy at how much quieter it runs. For now it's a 5 star product. If I encounter any problems, I will definitely update my review. It's worth the money!
Oh, one more thing. The type of litter you use makes a big difference. I've tried many different kinds and always come back to Scoop Away. It clumps really well which makes it easier for the rake to clean effectively.
